Kartik is a Co-Founder and the Managing Partner of Aspada Investment Advisors and also acts as the fund advisor for the SONG Fund through Aspada Capital Advisors. Prior, he was with Lightspeed Venture Partners, a global venture capital firm with over $2 billion under management, where he was a founding member of the India office. Earlier, Kartik was a management consultant with McKinsey and Company. He is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras. Kartik currently serves on the Boards of Capital Float, SV Agri, Xamcheck and EM3.
Co-Founder & Partner
Tom is a Co-Founder and Partner of Aspada Investment Advisors. Prior, he was one of the first employees of SeaChange Capital Partners, a social sector financial intermediary founded by former senior partners of Goldman Sachs. Earlier, he worked in the Investment Management Division at Goldman Sachs in San Francisco. Tom received his MBA at the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad, and his BA in Economics from Providence College. While at ISB he focused on innovations in early stage financing and entrepreneurial ecosystems in India and other emerging markets. He has worked and traveled extensively throughout India and Asia. He currently serves as a Board Observer across several of Aspada's portfolio companies.
Chief Financial Officer & Partner
Kushal is the Chief Financial Officer at Aspada Investment Advisors. Kushal is passionate about working with organizations in their formative phase and is closely involved with portfolio companies in their strategic and financial planning, process implementation, performance management and risk management. He currently serves on the Boards of Arya, SV Agri and Allfresh. His previous engagements include Financial Controller at Zovi.com and significant stints at ITC and PWC. Kushal is a meritorious Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a graduate in commerce from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata.
Vignesh is a Partner at Aspada Investment Advisors, focused on building out the cleantech, renewable energy and environment verticals. He has 15 years of experience in technology development and renewable energy, in initiating, sustaining and building new businesses across India, Thailand, and South Africa. He has a successful track record of delivering businesses with over $500M in revenue and a GW of contracted renewable energy assets. He was responsible for M&A origination and business development for a NASDAQ listed entity for the APAC and sub-Saharan African markets. Vignesh holds an MBA degree from the Indian School of Business, MS from Washington University in St. Louis and a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras.
Anoop is a Director at Aspada Investment Advisors, focused on the education and healthcare verticals and leading portfolio monitoring efforts. Prior to Aspada, Anoop worked with start-ups in the education, e-commerce and financial services sectors, assisting with fund raising, strategy and business development. Anoop started his career as an associate at the Ashmore Group, an emerging markets focused fund. He was also a Director at ISGN Inc., a mortgage services KPO, where he worked with the leadership team on M&A, strategy and was responsible for driving organizational profitability. Anoop has an MBA from the Indian School of Business at Hyderabad and a B-Tech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras
Vaidhehi is a Vice President at Aspada Investment Advisors. Most recently, she was an energy and chemicals consultant in New York; where she worked across several stages of project development of refining and petrochemical multi-billion dollar projects in the Americas and Africa. Previously, Vaidhehi has the distinction of being the first woman involved in project commissioning and refinery operations at Indian Oil Corporation. Vaidhehi currently serves on the board of LEAF. Vaidhehi has a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli.
Apurva is a Senior Associate at Aspada Investment Advisors. Previously, she worked with International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group, as part of their South Asia investment team. While at IFC, Apurva focused on debt, equity and quasi-equity investments as well as portfolio management in manufacturing, agribusiness, healthcare, education and tourism sectors across India, Sri Lanka and Bhutan. She started her career at Deutsche Bank’s investment banking division with exposure to M&A, debt and equity market transactions. Apurva graduated from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur with a degree in Economics.
Romit is a Senior Associate at Aspada Investment Advisors. Previously, Romit worked as a management consultant at ISF Advisors, a New York-based agriculture finance advisory. He has also served as an advisor to the government of Ethiopia on their agriculture transformation strategy. Romit started his career at Dalberg Advisors where he advised corporates, governments, foundations and social enterprises in Asia and Africa in agribusiness, renewable energy, education and water and sanitation. Romit graduated in Economics from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and holds a masters in Economics from the University of Cambridge where he was a Cambridge Commonwealth scholar.
Aditya is a Senior Associate at Aspada Investment Advisors. Previously, Aditya worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company where he served clients across the telecommunications, IT Services and logistics sectors. During his time at McKinsey, Aditya specialised in growth strategy, go-to-market strategy and due diligence projects. Aditya started his career at Sun Pharmaceuticals where he worked on a variety of initiatives including portfolio strategy, pricing analysis and M&A transactions. Aditya holds an MBA from INSEAD, a Master’s degree in Operations Research from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from McGill University.
Ayush is an Associate at Aspada Investment Advisors. Previously, he was a Management Consultant with McKinsey & Company and spent majority of his time in the Tech/IT, CPG and Chemicals sectors. While at McKinsey, Ayush gained expertise in lean & process optimisation, growth strategy, procurement optimisation and manpower forecasting for large organisations. Prior to joining McKinsey, Ayush graduated from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras with a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering.
Saloni is an Associate at Aspada Investment Advisors. Previously, she was a Management Consultant with Ernst & Young, Mumbai. While at EY, Saloni worked with clients in the consumer, airline, telecom and manufacturing sector specialising in process optimisation, finance transformation, robotic process automation and organisational design. Saloni is a Chartered Accountant and a graduate in commerce from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai. She completed her articleship in the International Taxation and Transfer Pricing wing at Ernst & Young, Mumbai. She is currently pursuing the CFA course.
Akshaya is an Analyst at Aspada Investment Advisors. Previously, she worked as as a Summer Analyst at the Abraaj Clean Energy Fund (ACEF) where she helped analyse the power sector dynamics for the fund’s target markets such as India, Mexico, Ivory Coast, etc. Prior to that, she interned at at Big Basket working on their BTL promotion campaign and analysing customer response and behaviour. Akshaya graduated from University of Warwick, with a BSc (Hons) in Economics in 2018.
Kripa is the General Counsel at Aspada Investment Advisors. Previously, she has worked with Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Mumbai and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, New York. During her years there, Kripa has been involved in representing various funds, lenders and companies on banking & finance transactions as well as on offering and fund documents. Kripa has an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad, an LL.M from Columbia Law School in New York where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and a B.A. LL.B(Hons.) from the National Law School of India University in Bangalore.
Praveen is Finance Controller at Aspada Investment Advisors. Previously, he served as a Deputy Manager at Deloitte Haskins & Sells where he served as a professional in audit and assurance. He brings significant experience in audit, taxation, compliance and financial analysis. Praveen is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He graduated from Christ College in Bangalore.
Ireena Vittal is an acclaimed strategy consultant on agriculture, consumer brands and urban development. She is a former partner with McKinsey & Co and brings with her over two decades of experience as a recognized thought leader to consumer facing companies looking to build large scale, profitable businesses in emerging markets. Ireena currently serves on the boards of several leading Indian corporations including Axis Bank, Wipro, Tata Global Beverages, Indian Hotels and Titan Industries, and is a member of the global advisory board of IDEO. She holds a undergraduate degree in Electronics and Masters in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
Peter Tropper is a renowned expert in emerging markets private equity with 30 years of investment and advisory experience in 110 countries in over 200 funds. Peter is Senior Advisor to the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association (EMPEA) and serves as chair of its Frontier Markets Council. In addition, he serves as a lecturer on private equity in emerging markets for the MBA program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Peter had an illustrious career at IFC, from where he retired, in 2014, as the Chief Investment Officer of IFC's Private Equity Group, which had commitments of more than $3.5 billion in over 180 private equity funds and fund managers, all dedicated exclusively to emerging markets. Prior to joining the IFC in 1984, Peter served as Deputy Director of the Northeast Midwest Institute in Washington, D.C. He holds a B.A. from Yale University, an MBA from the University of Maryland, and a Master’s in International Affairs from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
